The CAP (Coach-Athelte-Parent) Project

CoFounded the CAP Project to provide resources, consultations, and research to support the Coach-Athlete-Parent relationship. The CAP Project helps coaches address the complex dynamics of coach-athlete-parent relationships in ways that contribute to positive athlete experiences and team cohesion. It also helps parents navigate the challenges of raising high-performing athletes by offering strategies to support their athletes’ performance and autonomy, while strengthening the parent-athlete relationship.

Provide coach, player and team consultation around the psychological aspects of team culture, leadership, communication, injury recovery, team building and cohesion, mental skills, and life skills. Co-created and implemented post-game regeneration, relaxation, and visualization exercises. Put together and ran a mentor program for incoming athletes. Developed and implemented a series of classes for incoming freshmen and transfers to help them with the transition into a Division 1 program. Annually provide the transition programming for incoming freshmen and transfer students. Also provide annual freshmen parent and whole team parent education.
